Every President since and including Kennedy, save Johnson, has had at least one assassination attempt. Nixon and Ford each had two. It'd be notable if someone didn't try to knock off Obama if he becomes President.

Possibly an attempt to demonize conservatives in America. I think Bush was in greater danger, first due to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, but also because a few prominent progressives openly speculated that America would be a better place if Bush were dead.
