The Guardian announces plans to become the world’s first all-Twitter newspaper, Kia introduces an ungainly “Air Propulsion and Retardation Installation Line” for the Soul, and the student union at Calgary’s Mount Royal College agonizes over putting up a Canadian flag for fear that it might be “exclusionary.”
The first two got me, but that third story? Nice try, guys, but even a student council couldn’t be that ridiculous. Right?

If Pontiac could have hung on for a couple more years, I’m sure they would have given that Kia a run for its money in the plastic extrusions department.
Turns out the CBC article was a manufactured controversy for the most part, but it’s good it hit some nerves.

The new Maple Leaf ensign, only a few hours old, could be headed to the same dusty drawer where the old flag now lies, because the root issue — whether or not to fly the Canadian flag at all — remains undecided.
And that is the heart of the whole messy matter.
Students could yet demand the flag be banned, and the college’s politicians say they will listen to the whim of the masses.
