From this Mediaite article about Trump’s latest conspiracy-addled tweetstorm:
The reckless and irresponsible posts by Trump come exactly one week after the president tweeted a photo of himself wearing a mask and the press hailed him as having adopted a new, more serious tone about handling the outbreak that has claimed nearly 150,000 American lives since February.
Even Charlie Brown occasionally expressed some skepticism about Lucy promising not to pull away the football.

Putting on a mask, like every other move the guy makes, was rather unlikely to be based on believing in masks or wanting to set a good example to protect Americans. Anything he does is a calculated move to get a response or create an appearance that he thinks will benefit him. Nothing is sincere. One would think that everyone would know this by now. Rather than hailing Trump as ever getting serious about what benefits his citizens, one should ask about every move: What does he think he’s getting out of this?
(That is, aside from instability and chaos to confuse people to the point at which they’re so busy keeping track of his shenanigans that they miss whatever he’s doing behind the scenes….?)
